About the Department and Role 

We are currently in search of an experienced teacher of Economics and Business Studies to join a thriving department and our pastoral team as a Form Tutor. Experience of and willingness to teach another humanities subject would be an advantage. 

Both Economics (CAIE, 0455) and Business Studies (CAIE, 0450) are popular choices at both IGCSE and at IBDP. In summer 2024, 37% of both our IGCSE Economics and Business Studies students scored A* or A.  In the same session, 41% of our SL and 40% of our HL Business Management students scored a 6 or a 7, with 33% of our SL and 40% of our HL Economics students also scoring a 6 or a 7. 

The Economics and Business department is committed to continuous improvement. This year, the department is working on developing online resource provision for students and integrating the NAE Metacognition Project into teaching.

You are a forward-thinking educator who sets ambitious targets for students and fosters a love for learning. Enthusiastic about embracing new pedagogical methods, you are collaborative, reflective, and committed to professional growth. You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for Poland. 

Your qualifications 

• An honours degree in a relevant subject area. 
• UK QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification). 
• Proven experience teaching in an English-speaking school environment.

• A genuine passion and motivation for education, in particular in an international context. 
• A high level of personal integrity and professionalism. 
• Strong communication skills and the ability to inspire students. 
• A high level of proficiency in using technology for teaching and administration. 
• A collaborative mindset and flexibility to support the wider school community. 

Job Responsibilities 

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for KS3, IGCSE, and IBDP students. 
• Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment that encourages personal and academic growth. 
• Collaborate on curriculum development, assessment design, and departmental initiatives. 
• Integrate Nord Anglia’s unique resources and global partnerships into your teaching. 
• Actively participate in school life, including the LEAP co-curricular program, events, and supervision duties. 
• Maintain open communication with parents and contribute to academic reviews. 
• Engage in professional development and model lifelong learning. Carry out the role of a Form Tutor to support students in their personal and academic growth. Fulfil active supervision and lesson cover duties as required.
