Description

The role involves leading the department with a clear strategic vision, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, and fostering strong engagement with students, parents, and the wider school community. Responsibilities include monitoring pupil progress, supporting teachers, maintaining high academic and behavioural standards, and managing departmental resources effectively. The position also requires active participation in school events and a strong commitment to ongoing professional development through Nord Anglia University, global teacher collaboration, and relevant IB/CIE training.

Required Skills/Abilities

Essential

  • Teaching degree with QTS
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering student pastoral care 
  • Knowledge of EAL and SEND strategies 
  • Excellent working relationships with parents 
  • Thorough understanding of English National Curriculum and best practice for working with Primary pupils 
  • A proven track record of teaching Primary-aged children 

Desirable

Previous international teaching experience

Leadership experience within a Primary setting

Further professional development and qualifications relevant to Primary education and leadership
