Job Description
Key activities:
Support teachers and students in the teaching and learning process by assisting with classroom and out-of-class activities, preparing materials, and helping to maintain an organized learning environment. Supervise students during lessons, breaks, and short-term teacher absences, ensuring safety, discipline, and engagement.
Main responsibilities:
- Support students’ development, learning, and inclusion, encouraging independence and collaboration;
- Assist teachers with planning, delivering, and evaluating learning activities;
- Observe and record student progress, providing feedback as needed;
- Prepare resources, mark work, and provide general administrative support;
- Contribute to a positive school environment, following policies and maintaining confidentiality;
- Participate in meetings, school events, and extracurricular activities;
- Engage in continuous professional development and teamwork.
Required Skills/Abilities
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Languages, or related fields is desirable;
- Previous experience in a school setting or working with children is an advantage;
Languages:
- Advanced/fluent English (preferred for bilingual/international school environments);
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and school staff;
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to support students with diverse learning needs;
- Patience, empathy, and ability to manage challenging behaviour positively;
- Proactive and responsible approach to tasks;
- Ability to observe, record, and report student progress;
- Commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics;
- Flexibility and adaptability in a school environment;
- Willingness to engage in continuous professional development;
Desirable:
- Experience in international or bilingual schools;
- Knowledge of inclusion strategies or special educational needs (SEN);
- Experience providing classroom or one-to-one student support.
