Léman International School Chengdu (LIS) is looking to recruit a Head of Learning Support, to drive excellent teaching and learning.
Nord Anglia Education is looking to recruit a Head of Learning Support to join our school. The role:
We seek a qualified Head of Learning Support to join our school. Leading the development and implementation of inclusive practices within the school, ensuring that all students, regardless of their background or needs, have equitable access to educational opportunities. This role focuses on creating a supportive and welcoming environment that fosters the academic, social, and emotional growth of every student. The focus of the role will be:
- Strategic Development: Designing and implementing a comprehensive inclusion strategy that aligns with the school’s mission and values, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion across all programs and activities.
- Policy Implementation: Develop school policies that support inclusive practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, support staff, and leadership to create individualised education plans (IEPs) and promote effective classroom teaching strategies for diverse learners.
- Training and Professional Development: Organise and facilitate training for staff on inclusive practices, differentiation, and social and emotionally responsive teaching.
- Family and Community Engagement: Foster strong partnerships with families and the wider school community in order to support students’ needs and promote inclusive values.
- Monitoring and Assessment: Collect, track and analyse data on student progress and engagement to assess the effectiveness of inclusion initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
- Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for students with diverse needs, promoting understanding and awareness within the school community.
- Resource Management: Oversee the allocation of resources and support services to ensure that all students receive the necessary assistance for their success.
The Successful Candidate will possess:
- a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
- Teaching qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Proven experience in inclusive education and special education practices.
- Strong understanding of current trends, and best practices in inclusion and diversity in education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Empathy and Compassion
- Strong understanding of pastoral care and Social emotional leanring
- Adaptability

About you
Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school. You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with parents and students. You will be able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international environment as well as meet visa-related restrictions for China, including Bachelor’s Degree or Higher and a minimum of 2 years of work experience since graduating.
