Assistant HR Manager 

 

The British International School Abu Dhabi is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant HR Manager to support our dynamic HR team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the day to day delivery of high quality HR services at a leading international school.

About the Role

 

As Assistant HR Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of the HR function delivering exceptional service across the employee lifecycle. You will be a trusted advisor to leaders and staff, ensure HR processes are implemented effectively, and support ongoing HR strategy and initiatives.

You will lead on recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, compliance processes, and be the go to person for HR support across the school.

 

About You

 

You will be a dedicated and highly organised HR professional with a strong understanding of best practice in human resources and a working knowledge of UAE employment law. With experience in a fast paced HR environment, you thrive on managing multiple responsibilities with efficiency and discretion.

You are confident working independently, yet collaborative in your approach, with excellent communication skills that help you build positive relationships across all levels of an organisation. Your attention to detail, proactive mindset, and ability to stay calm under pressure make you a reliable point of contact for both staff and leadership.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Recruitment & Staffing

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment and onboarding

  • Draft adverts, job descriptions, and recruitment communications

  • Drive Emiratisation initiatives and reporting

  • Oversee pre-employment safeguarding checks

 

Employee Relations

  • Act as trusted advisor to staff and leaders

  • Support investigations, grievances & disciplinary processes

  • Lead return-to-work meetings and sickness management

  • Promote employee wellbeing and positive staff culture

 

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Lead HR administration, payroll processes, and visa processes

  • Ensure adherence to UAE Labour Law, ADEK requirements, and Nord Anglia policies

  • Maintain accurate HR data and metrics

  • Support staff licensing and audit requirements

 

Performance & Development

  • Lead probation processes

  • Support performance management

  • Coordinate HR induction and support training initiatives
