Deputy Headteacher - Secondary

 

The British International School Abu Dhabi is looking to appoint an outstanding Deputy Headteacher - Secondary to join a well-established, supportive team in a highly successful and expanding school.

 

The closing date for applications is 17th November 2024. The start date for this role is August 2025. Interviews will take place in school week commencing 27th January 2025.

 

About You

 

You will be a teacher and leader who is passionate about their profession and seeks continuous improvement. You will have a positive mindset and will always do your very best for students, for parents and for colleagues. You will have strong experience of the UK national curriculum; further experience of international education will be an added advantage.

 

You will be an excellent communicator who will work well with all members of the community. You will have a strong focus on being the best teacher you can be and will also participate fully in all extra-curricular aspects of school life. You will be responsible for encouraging and developing further our culture of inspiration, enjoyment and success. Keen to collaborate and share your expertise, you will have good interpersonal skills and the ability and confidence to build strong working relationships. The flexibility and open-mindedness required to adapt quickly to a fast-paced international environment are essential.

 

You will have extensive leadership experience and will have the drive and vision to inspire all staff. You will be compassionate and go the extra mile to support and develop your team.

 

About the Role

 

There are over 1100 students in our Secondary school and a large number of classes and teachers. Our school follows the UK national curriculum, GCSE and IB. New pathways for students have recently been launched, such as BTECH. As Deputy Headteacher you will lead and inspire our teachers and our students towards our ambition of being truly world class. He or she will work closely with the Senior leadership team in secondary and other senior staff to embed a culture of high achievement for all aspects of learning and development. Building and maintaining positive relationships with parents is essential.

Selection Process

 

Applicants should submit a CV, letter of application and the details of two professional referees, one of which should be your current Head Teacher/Principal.
