Job Description

 

Nord Anglia International School Abu Dhabi is seeking a proactive and experienced Public Relations Officer (PRO) to join our growing team. The PRO will play a pivotal role in managing governmental relations, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations, and supporting our staff with visa, work permit, and administrative processes. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with expertise in UAE labor law, immigration procedures, and a deep understanding of digital visa systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Government Liaison:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the school and government departments such as immigration, labor, and municipal authorities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant government entities to facilitate smooth operations and compliance.

 

Visa and Work Permit Management:

  • Process and manage all documentation related to staff visas, residency permits, labor contracts, and Emirates IDs using UAE’s digital platforms (e.g., ICA and MOHRE systems).
  • Monitor visa renewals, cancellations, and expiry dates, ensuring timely action to maintain compliance.

 

Compliance and Regulation:

  • Stay up-to-date with UAE labor and immigration laws, advising the school on any changes and ensuring compliance.
  • Coordinate with HR and administration to ensure all staff records are accurate and in line with legal requirements.

 

Administrative Support:

  • Facilitate the application and renewal of school-related permits and licenses, including trade licenses and other regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with onboarding international staff by providing guidance on relocation, medical tests, and other government-related processes.

 

Problem Resolution:

  • Handle and resolve any government-related issues, such as fines, discrepancies, or policy-related challenges, in a timely and efficient manner.

 

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Public Relations Officer, preferably in an educational or international organization within the UAE.
  • Expert knowledge of UAE labor laws, immigration procedures, and digital visa/work permit systems (e.g., Tasheel, Amer, ICP, E-channel).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with government officials and internal teams.
  • High proficiency in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines under pressure.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification preferred.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Abu Dhabi-specific regulations and requirements.
  • Previous experience in handling large-scale visa processing for international staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and government e-services platforms.
