Job Description
As our Payroll, Compensation & Benefits Assistant, you’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and supporting all compensation and benefits-related matters across the school. You’ll work closely with managers, external agencies, and government bodies to ensure compliance with Thai labour laws and school policies. Your work will directly impact the experience of over 500+ employees, both Thai and expatriate, by making sure they are paid correctly, supported, and well taken care of.
What You’ll Do
1. Payroll Management and Staff Cost Planning
- Manage complete monthly payroll processes for over 500+ staff, including regular salary, overtime, bonuses, income tax, flight allowance, repatriation, and other benefits.
- Process additional payments and eligible deductions accurately, such as provident fund, student loan, and court orders.
- Prepare monthly reconciliation reports and maintain updated payroll records.
- Issue payslips, tax certificates, and statutory reports (PND1, PND1G, Social Security, Workmen’s Compensation, etc.)
- Coordinate with Finance and Managers on payroll forecasting and staff cost reporting. This includes preparing the annual budget and 11-month, 9-month, 6-month, and 4-month cost forecast reports.
- Submit reports and payments to government bodies and relevant authorities in a timely manner.
- Prepare and submit annual tax returns for expatriate teachers.
- Handle all payroll queries and resolve payroll-related issues.
2. Compensation and Benefits
- Review and update salary structures and benefit packages in collaboration with managers.
- Manage benefits for all eligible employees including insurance, child scholarships, flight allowances, etc.
- Liaise with insurance brokers to onboard or offboard employees from benefit schemes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date benefit records.
- Support and guide employees on benefit entitlements and related queries.
- Administer salary adjustments, promotions, and compensation planning.
3. HR Support and Documentation
- Provide official documents such as employment certificates and benefit letters upon request.
- Prepare and follow up on expat tax refunds and renewal contracts.
- Apply for Tax ID numbers for expatriates and foreign staff.
- Support visa and work permit queries for expat employees.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and Thai labour regulations for all documentation and records.
Who We’re Looking For
- At least 3 years of experience in Human Resources, specifically in payroll, compensation, and benefits.
- Experience with E-Business Plus payroll software is a strong advantage.
- Fluent in Thai with good spoken and written English.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly organised, reliable, and able to handle sensitive information professionally.
- Confident working independently and as part of a team.
