Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Mathematics Teacher committed to providing a nurturing, inspiring, and inclusive educational journey for every student.
Mathematics is a popular and well-established subject at St Andrews. Class sizes are small and students are motivated and enthusiastic, enjoying a lively approach through a wide range of teaching and learning techniques.
Inspiring Learning and Development
You will nurture the academic and personal growth of your students, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs and abilities. You'll collaborate with colleagues and Heads of Subject to design cohesive learning experiences and provide regular, meaningful feedback to parents.
Curriculum pathways:
- Key Stage 3: National Curriculum-based, adapted for creative real-life applications, mixed-ability groups
- Key Stage 4: IGCSE Mathematics; high-achievers may sit early and progress to Further Pure Maths
- Key Stage 5: IB Diploma or IB Career-related Programme (Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation), or school-based subject
Experience teaching IB HL AA/AI or A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics is highly desirable. We welcome both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) — for whom we offer DfE ECF-based training — and experienced educators.
Collaborating as a Professional Team Member
You'll implement assessment and reporting protocols, supervise students, and support curriculum development. Working closely with colleagues, you'll ensure a consistent, high-quality learning environment across year groups.
Professional Development
We offer access to Nord Anglia University's CPD platform, Professional Learning Communities, Triads, WalkThrus, and leadership and Masters programme opportunities.
Building a Welcoming School Community
You'll engage weekly in extracurricular activities, support House events, and represent the school in the local and international community.
