Join Our Finance Team – Senior Accounting and Finance Officer

The Opportunity:
As our Senior Accounting and Finance Officer, you'll work closely with the Business Manager to ensure the school's financial operations are efficient, compliant, and forward-thinking. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on data, financial systems, and turning insights into meaningful action. You’ll be involved in everything from budgeting and forecasting to financial modelling, collections oversight, and stakeholder engagement—ensuring we continue to provide excellence and integrity in all that we do.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead financial analysis and provide actionable insights that support school-wide strategic decisions.
  • Develop financial models, track performance, and conduct detailed variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with departments to build accurate budgets and forecasts.
  • Oversee financial reporting and ensure timely, clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and enhance financial systems and controls to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Support billing, invoicing, and collections oversight to maintain healthy receivables.
  • Partner with families and staff to provide clear, professional financial support.

What You'll Bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA – part or fully qualified)
  • 3–5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • High proficiency in advanced Excel functions, including complex formula creation, sophisticated data manipulation (pivot tables, Power Query), financial modelling, and data visualization.
  • Proven ability to critically analyse complex financial data and effectively communicate insights with clarity to diverse stakeholders (both financial and non-financial).
  • A meticulous attention to detail with exceptional organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent English communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience in an international or educational environment and familiarity with international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS) are advantageous.
