Job Description
Senior Science Technician
St Andrews International School Bangkok is seeking an experienced Senior Science Technician to join our Science Department.
The role supports the delivery of practical science by preparing laboratory materials, equipment and chemicals, maintaining safe laboratory operations, supporting teachers and students, and helping manage Science resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, set up and maintain equipment, chemicals and materials for Science lessons.
- Support practical lessons, demonstrations and curriculum activities.
- Maintain safe laboratory practices and support health and safety compliance.
- Handle, store and dispose of chemicals and hazardous materials safely.
- Maintain inventory records, stock levels and laboratory resources.
- Support purchasing, supplier coordination and equipment servicing.
- Maintain, clean, test and organise laboratory equipment and workspaces.
- Provide technical advice and support to teachers, students and technicians.
- Support and guide Science Technicians when required.
- Act as deputy to the Team Leader Technician when needed.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Science, Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology, Physics or a related field.
- Experience in a laboratory, science, school or technical support environment.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures.
- Experience handling chemicals, equipment and laboratory resources.
- Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Responsible, reliable and able to work safely in a school environment.
Desirable:
- Experience in an international school or educational setting.
- Experience supervising or training technical staff.
- Knowledge of CLEAPSS, COSHH or similar safety standards.
- Experience supporting Biology, Chemistry and Physics laboratories.
