Deputy Head of Boarding

We are looking to recruit an outstanding Deputy Head of Boarding to support the Head of Boarding at Regents International School Pattaya, one of the leading boarding schools in Thailand.

The Deputy Head of Boarding will be expected to live on site when boarders are in residence for the proper performance of their duties. The Deputy Head of Boarding will be responsible for supporting the Head of Boarding in promoting the welfare, safety and attendance in lessons and activities for all the boarding students, acting in loco parentis.

Required Skills/Abilities

- leadership qualities, with ability to command respect from children, staff and parents

- experience of working in a boarding or residential environment

- experience in dealing with pastoral and/or safeguarding issues (Desirable)

- able to motivate and inspire both students and staff

- excellent interpersonal and communication skills

- hold high emotional intelligence and sensitivity to deal with challenging pastoral and staffing issues

- a positive approach to problem solving, resilience and determination

- an eagerness to contribute to whole-school development and improvement

- able to exercise total discretion and uphold confidentiality

- able to work under pressure, multi-task and negotiate

- have energy, drive, enthusiasm, a positive manner and a sense of humour. Adaptability, flexibility and good judgement

- an interest in global education issues

- experience of working with children who have English as a Second Language (Desirable)
