DEPUTY HEAD OF SECONDARY
NORD ANGLIA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AL KHOR (NAISAK), QATAR
We are seeking an experienced Deputy Head to support our next phase of development in Secondary at NAISAK. We follow a bespoke version of the English National Curriculum in the Secondary School, culminating in IGCSE, AS and A level. The school achieved a 5-year Qatar National Schools Accreditation (QNSA) and is a member of the British Schools in the Middle East (BSME).

About the role
A key member of the School Leadership Team, you will provide direction, inspiration and guidance to our Secondary teaching staff. Together with the Head of Secondary, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school. You will have particular responsibility for the Secondary School curriculum and play a key role in ensuring the quality of teaching & learning across the school. You will work alongside the Heads of Department, the pastoral team and the SEN Director to ensure academic progress and attainment are the best we can achieve for our students. You will be in charge of selected year groups and ensure their wellbeing and school experience are conducive to the highest results for each individual. Together with class teachers and the pastoral team, you will ensure high standards of behaviour and pastoral care in school. You will work with the Principal to develop further the mission, vision and strategic direction of the school as we strive for continuous school improvement.

About you
Able to drive excellence by valuing and developing others, you will be a qualified teacher with extensive experience of both hands-on teaching and management in education. Experience at middle leadership level is essential and previous experience at senior leadership level is preferred. You will be fully up to date with curriculum developments, strong on leadership and people management, you will have a flair for setting and meeting challenging performance targets.
Able to work with a high degree of cultural sensitivity in our changing and fast-paced international environment, you will have the ability to use a range of communication strategies and channels. Your emerging commercial, financial, market and organisational awareness will enable you to work as part of a team that devises effective solutions to our challenges.
A strong ambassador for the school, you will be able to develop new ways to engage students and parents with the wider school and Nord Anglia Education community. You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for Qatar including possession of a Bachelor’s degree and a teaching qualification from a face-to-face (non-online) course.
