We’re looking to recruit a Head of Boarding (Chinese/English Bilingual Required) to join our Dalian American International School, a Nord Anglia Education school.

 

THE SCHOOL

DAIS is an American international school in the Golden Pebble Beach National Resort, in Jinzhou New District, Dalian, China, about 60 kilometres east of the centre of Dalian. 

Founded in 2006, DAIS has provided every student with an opportunity to achieve personal excellence and to contribute to the global community. It serves students of approximately 30 nationalities in Pre-K through 12th grade. 

The language of instruction is English for all classes with the exception of proficiency levelled Mandarin classes.

 

THE ROLE

Strategic leadership and development of Boarding which supports the philosophy, aims and policies of the School, and promotes a high level of achievement in all areas of Boarding life. Promoting the school as a caring and nurturing environment dedicated to the well-being and education of students. As a school we are committed to providing a supportive and enriching environment for our students, academically, pastorally and for those resident with us as boarders. We are currently seeking a full-time Head of Boarding who is bilingual in Chinese and English to join our team. This position plays a key role in leading the residential life program, ensuring the safety, well-being, and personal development of boarding students.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Fluent proficiency in both Chinese and English (spoken and written)  

- Minimum of two years’ experience working in a boarding or residential supervision role  

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage staff and support student needs effectively  

- Excellent communication skills for liaising with students, parents, faculty, and external parties  

- Ability to handle emergencies calmly and efficiently while maintaining student welfare as priority   

- Knowledge of child protection policies and best practices within an international school setting
