Role Purpose

The Document Controller – Construction will manage and control project documentation for Nord Anglia’s new school builds and construction projects in Dubai and the wider region. This role ensures all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, compliant, and easily accessible to stakeholders, supporting the delivery of projects on time and within scope. In addition, the role will provide administrative and PA support to the New Builds leadership team as required.

 


 

Key Responsibilities

 

Document Control

 

  • Establish and maintain document management systems for construction projects.
  • Control the flow of engineering, architectural, contractual, and project documentation.
  • Ensure documents comply with internal standards, client requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Track and distribute drawings, specifications, and correspondence, maintaining accurate revision records.
  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to manage submissions and approvals.

 

Administrative & PA Support

 

  • Provide general administrative support to the New Builds team to ensure smooth operations across both head office and project sites.
  • Assist in preparing reports, registers, and presentations for management.
  • Coordinate logistics for project meetings, workshops, and site visits.
  • Act as a central point of contact between site and head office, ensuring effective communication and follow-up.

Skills & Experience

 

Essential:

 

  • 5–8 years’ experience in a Document Controller role, ideally within the construction or engineering sector.
  • Strong background in building construction projects (mandatory).
  • Proven administrative/PA experience supporting project or leadership teams.
  • Currently based in the UAE, with flexibility to work both onsite and at head office.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Proficient in document control systems (EDMS such as Aconex, Procore, or similar).
  • High proficiency in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities.

 

Desirable:

 

  • Valid UAE driving licence to allow travel between sites and offices.
  • Knowledge of cost analysis, cost accounting, and cost calculation.
  • CAD knowledge (to support document review and coordination).
  • Arabic language skills.
  • Previous experience in education facility or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of UAE construction regulations and project compliance requirements.

 

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in document control (preferred but not essential).
