About the role

 

You will be providing personalised support on a 1:1 and small group basis with secondary students from Year 7 and Year 11.

 

The ideal candidate

 

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • experience of providing core subject (math, English, Science) support to secondary aged students (Years 7 – 11)
  • experience of supporting neurodiverse students; including planning and delivering small group and 1:1 support sessions for students with neurodiverse profiles
  • previous and relevant experience of working as a Learning Support Assistant or Secondary Tacher
  • previous experience of working within the British curriculum across secondary to GCSE/IGCSE level
  • relevant qualifications
  • a good rapport with young people
  • a genuine passion for education
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • a friendly and professional manner
  • strong English skills – spoken and written

The school has high standards for its students and is looking for someone who thrives towards maintaining high academic attainment. The ideal candidate will be confident and successful in teaching students who have learning difficulties and who have followed the UK National Curriculum. The candidate’s experience should include working with secondary aged students across the core subject areas. The candidate will be required to prepare and deliver one-to-one and small group teaching sessions for secondary aged students. The ability to work alongside other stakeholders to enhance student participation is paramount for this role. The candidate will be supporting students, teachers and parents to develop personalised educational plans (PEPs) and develop the provision according to the student’s specific needs.

 

The candidate will work alongside the Secondary Head of Inclusion as well as a dynamic Personalised Learning Team.
