Nord Anglia International School, Dublin is seeking to recruit a passionate and skilled Head of Music for a maternity cover contract commencing in April 2025 for a duration of approximately 1 year. The successful candidate will be proficient in playing and teaching at least one musical instrument and have substantial experience in producing school productions. The Role:

 

We are looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Head of Music who will focus on:

 

  • Delivering outstanding, engaging, and differentiated music lessons across various age groups, tailored to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students.
  • Leading and managing the Music Department, promoting a culture of collaboration, consistency, and high standards in music education.
  • Planning, directing, and producing school musical productions and performances, ensuring a high level of student involvement and artistic achievement.
  • Organising and overseeing extracurricular music activities, such as choirs, ensembles, and music clubs, to enrich the musical life of the school.
  • Integrating music into the broader school curriculum, fostering interdisciplinary projects that inspire creativity and critical thinking.
  • Supporting and mentoring music teachers, facilitating their professional growth and encouraging the sharing of best practices within the department.

 

The Successful Candidate will possess:

 

  • A recognised teaching qualification and extensive experience teaching music across a range of year groups.
  • Proficiency in playing and teaching at least one musical instrument to a high standard, with the ability to inspire students through practical demonstrations and expert instruction.
  • Proven experience in planning and producing successful school musical productions, with strong organisational and leadership skills.
  • A deep understanding of music education, including a commitment to integrating performance and theory to create a comprehensive learning experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, and contribute positively to the school community.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and inspiring learning environment where all students are encouraged to reach their musical potential.
