Nord Anglia International School Dublin is looking to recruit a dedicated MYP & DP Language and Literature Teacher to deliver outstanding teaching and learning in this subject area. The Role
Reporting to the Assistant Head of Secondary and Head of Language & Literature, you will play a key role in delivering an outstanding MYP and DP learning experience. Your key areas of focus will include:
- Delivering high-quality instruction: teaching engaging, inquiry-based MYP and DP Language and Literature lessons that develop students’ analytical, communication and creative skills.
- Creating a dynamic learning environment: encouraging critical thinking, discussion and independent learning while fostering a genuine love of language and literature.
- Assessing and supporting student growth: designing and implementing a range of formative and summative assessments to track progress and provide meaningful, timely feedback.
- Planning and preparation: taking responsibility for schemes of work and lesson plans, and developing short-, medium- and long-term plans in line with curriculum objectives.
- Collaborating with colleagues and the school community: working closely with fellow educators, students and parents to support student learning and wellbeing.
- Contributing to the wider school community: participating in extracurricular activities, school events and initiatives that enrich students’ educational experience.
- Form Tutor responsibilities: contributing to the implementation of the IB curriculum and supporting students’ pastoral and personal development.
The Successful Candidate Will Possess
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, HDipEd or equivalent) and a Bachelor’s degree in Language and Literature or a related subject.
- Significant experience teaching Language and Literature at secondary level, with familiarity with MYP and DP curricula or comparable frameworks such as GCSE/IGCSE.
- A deep understanding of inquiry-based learning, interdisciplinary teaching approaches and the IB curriculum.
- Strong classroom management skills tailored to the developmental and social dynamics of secondary students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
- Competence in using educational technology and digital tools to support subject-specific learning and student engagement.
- A commitment to student-centred learning, differentiation and inclusive classroom practices.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
