The Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Dance and Drama teacher to join our secondary faculty. This is a specialist MYP and DP teaching position with potential for the right candidate to assume leadership responsibilities, however there is also possibility for this appointment to be a standalone teaching position. As a Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver outstanding Dance and Drama lessons across MYP (Grades 6-10) and DP (Grades 11-12)
  • Plan and assess in line with IB MYP Arts and DP Theatre / DP Dance frameworks
  • Lead and contribute to productions, performances, and co-curricular activities
  • Collaborate across departments and build strong relationships with the school community

 

With Potential for Head of Department, you may also:

  • Lead and develop the Dance and Drama department, setting a clear vision for teaching and learning
  • Line manage, mentor, and support departmental colleagues
  • Oversee curriculum planning, schemes of work, assessment, and departmental documentation
  • Manage departmental budgets and resources, and represent the department at leadership level

 

Who We Are Looking For

 

Essential

  • Recognised teaching qualification with specialism in Dance, Drama, or Theatre
  • Proven secondary teaching experience (MYP and/or DP experience strongly preferred)
  • Track record of outstanding lessons and strong student outcomes
  • Experience leading or contributing to school productions
  • Deep knowledge of IB MYP or DP curriculum frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills across a diverse international community
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
  • Eligibility to live and work in Ireland

Desirable

  • Experience as HOD or in a curriculum leadership role
  • Dual specialism in both Dance and Drama / Theatre
  • International or multicultural school experience
  • Knowledge of the Juilliard Creative Classroom approach
  • Postgraduate qualification in education or arts leadership
