About Nord Anglia International School Dublin
Nord Anglia International School Dublin (NAIS Dublin) is part of Nord Anglia Education, the world's leading premium international schools organisation, with over 80 schools across 30 countries educating more than 85,000 students globally. Opened in 2018, NAIS Dublin is the city's first international school of its kind, educating students aged 3 to 18 in a state-of-the-art campus in Leopardstown. Our school community is ambitious, inclusive and internationally minded, and we are committed to providing an outstanding environment for both students and staff.
The Role
NAIS Dublin is looking for a reliable, practical and proactive Maintenance Caretaker to join our operations team. This is a newly structured role responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair and upkeep of our Leopardstown campus, ensuring the school building and grounds are kept in excellent condition for students, staff and visitors. You will carry out a mix of planned preventative maintenance and reactive repair work, support the set-up of school events and spaces, and act as a first-line response to premises issues throughout the school day. You will work closely with our Head of Operations and Health and Safety Officer as part of a small, hands-on operations team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out day-to-day planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the school building, grounds and equipment.
- Conduct regular checks of doors, fire exits, building fabric, fixtures and fittings, completing minor repairs promptly.
- Check and maintain mechanical and electrical systems (heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing) at a basic level, escalating faults requiring specialist contractors to the Head of Operations.
- Maintain a maintenance log of completed tasks and outstanding issues.
- Carry out daily opening and closing checks, securing doors, gates and access points.
- Check fire detection equipment, emergency lighting and security systems on a scheduled basis, escalating faults to the Health and Safety Officer.
- Report H&S risks and hazards identified during premises checks to the Health and Safety Officer.
- Move, store and set up school furniture, materials and equipment for lessons, events and activities.
- Supervise contractor access to site and ensure compliance with school access procedures.
- Support the Health and Safety Officer during emergency evacuations.
- Maintain storage areas and the tools and materials store, managing stock levels and flagging replenishment needs.
