Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Student Counsellor to support the personal, academic, and career development of our students. The ideal candidate will provide one-on-one and group counselling sessions, helping students navigate academic pressures, mental health challenges, career concerns, and personal issues. This role requires a deep understanding of student needs and a commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Counselling and Support:

    • Provide confidential, one-on-one counselling sessions to students.
    • Facilitate group sessions on topics such as stress management, study skills, time management, and interpersonal skills.
    • Assess students' needs and develop personalized action plans to address academic, career, or personal issues.
  2. Career and Academic Guidance:

    • Guide students in setting and achieving academic and career goals.
    • Collaborate with academic advisors to help students identify areas for academic improvement.
    • Assist students in preparing for internships, job interviews, and career development opportunities.
  3. Crisis Intervention:

    • Respond to students facing personal, academic, or mental health crises.
    • Provide immediate support and, if necessary, coordinate with external resources for specialized assistance.
  4. Workshops and Training:

    • Design and conduct workshops on topics such as mental health awareness, work-life balance, and professional skill development.
    • Regularly update and adapt programming based on evolving student needs.
  5. Record Keeping and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate, confidential records of counselling sessions and interventions.
    • Provide regular reports on common student concerns and make recommendations for institutional support improvements.
  6. Collaborative Initiatives:

    • Work closely with faculty, staff, and administration to ensure a holistic approach to student well-being.
    • Develop partnerships with local mental health professionals and organizations to expand resources for students.
