Short Description

MYP Visual Arts Teacher

Oakridge International School, Gachibowli is seeking a passionate, creative, and experienced MYP Visual Arts Teacher to join our dynamic faculty team. The ideal candidate should be committed to delivering engaging and inquiry-based learning experiences aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme philosophy.

The teacher will inspire students to explore creativity, artistic expression, critical thinking, and intercultural understanding through a well-structured Visual Arts curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Visual Arts lessons for MYP students in alignment with IB standards and practices.

  • Foster creativity, experimentation, and artistic confidence among students.

  • Design engaging learning experiences that encourage inquiry, reflection, and conceptual understanding.

  • Integrate a variety of artistic techniques, media, and digital tools into classroom instruction.

  • Assess and monitor student progress using formative and summative assessment strategies.

  • Maintain student portfolios and support exhibition/project-based learning.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student wellbeing and collaboration.

  • Participate actively in curriculum planning, departmental meetings, school events, exhibitions, and parent conferences.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to support interdisciplinary learning.

  • Uphold the values and mission of Oakridge International School and the IB learner profile.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, or a related field.

  • IB MYP training/certification preferred.

  • Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in Visual Arts, preferably in an IB or international school setting.

  • Strong understanding of inquiry-based and student-centered learning approaches.

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

  • Passion for arts education and student development.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of contemporary and traditional art practices.

  • Experience in organizing art exhibitions and student showcases.

  • Familiarity with digital art tools and creative technologies.

  • Ability to mentor students for competitions and collaborative art projects.
