Job Description

About the Role

Oakridge International School, Gachibowli, is seeking a passionate and experienced MYP French Teacher to deliver engaging and inquiry-based French language instruction to middle school students. The ideal candidate will foster language acquisition, intercultural understanding, and communication skills while aligning teaching practices with the IB MYP framework. The role reflects standard expectations for IB MYP language acquisition teaching, including inquiry-based planning, differentiated instruction, and assessment aligned to MYP criteria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality French lessons aligned with the IB MYP Language Acquisition framework.
  • Develop students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in French through engaging and interactive teaching strategies.
  • Design inquiry-based, concept-driven learning experiences that promote international-mindedness and cultural awareness.
  • Create unit planners, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with MYP objectives and assessment criteria.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of varied language proficiency levels.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
  • Prepare students for MYP assessments/eAssessments where applicable.
  • Maintain accurate academic records, reports, and student portfolios.
  • Collaborate with MYP Coordinator and language department for curriculum planning and interdisciplinary learning.
  • Participate in parent meetings, school events, professional development, and IB training workshops.

Job Responsibilities

Required Skills/Abilities

  • DELF/DALF or equivalent French language certification.
  • IB Workshop Certification in MYP Language Acquisition.
  • Experience with interdisciplinary planning and MYP unit design.
  • Familiarity with educational technology and digital language-learning tools.
