Job Description
Oakridge International School is seeking a passionate, creative, and experienced IBDP Visual Arts Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching and learning aligned with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop artistic skills, critical thinking, creativity, and personal expression while guiding them through the Visual Arts curriculum, including Comparative Study, Process Portfolio, and Exhibition components.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with the IBDP Visual Arts curriculum framework.
- Teach both Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL) students in accordance with IB guidelines.
- Guide students in developing strong artistic techniques across multiple mediums including drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, digital art, and installation work.
- Support students in completing Comparative Study, Process Portfolio, and Exhibition requirements successfully.
- Encourage experimentation, reflection, and independent artistic exploration.
- Integrate contemporary, historical, cultural, and global art perspectives into classroom teaching. IB Visual Arts roles commonly emphasize studio-based learning and global perspectives.
- Use IB assessment criteria effectively for evaluation, feedback, and student progress tracking.
- Maintain accurate academic records, reports, and portfolio documentation.
- Organize student exhibitions, showcases, and art displays within the school community.
- Collaborate with the DP Coordinator and fellow teachers for interdisciplinary learning and curriculum planning.
- Participate actively in staff meetings, parent interactions, professional development sessions, and school events.
- Maintain art resources, studios, and materials in an organized and safe manner.
