Job Description

The DP Economics Teacher will be responsible for teaching Economics at the IB Diploma level (Grades 11 and 12), focusing on developing students' critical thinking, research, and analytical skills in the context of economic theories and global issues. This individual will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that prepares students for their IB exams while fostering a passion for learning and inquiry-based thinking.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality IB DP Economics lessons in line with the IB curriculum framework, ensuring academic rigor and differentiation for a diverse range of learners.
  • Student Engagement: Foster an engaging and supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to question, explore, and analyze economic concepts and real-world applications.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Develop and implement formative and summative assessments that align with IB standards, provide constructive feedback, and prepare students for internal and external examinations.
  • IB Standards Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the IB Diploma Programme guidelines, standards, and subject-specific requirements, ensuring that the curriculum is delivered in compliance with IB expectations.
  • Collaborative Planning: Work collaboratively with other DP teachers and staff to plan interdisciplinary units, share best practices, and contribute to the overall DP curriculum development.
  • Support for Students: Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students, including those undertaking Extended Essays in Economics, ensuring their personal and academic growth.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities, including IB workshops and internal training, to stay current with the latest pedagogical practices and subject-specific updates.
