MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The English Classroom Teacher in Middle School teaches at various grades in secondary francophone classes. The candidate will be able to engage and motivate students, regardless of their abilities. He/she will be able to work closely with a team of dedicated colleagues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The English teacher will:

Promote the school’s mission and vision by assisting students to discover and develop individual strengths, make powerful, life-long global connections, and be their best selves.

Contribute to the creation of a caring and inclusive learning environment in which students can flourish, ensuring that each student’s health and well-being are given the necessary priority.

Embody and promote Collège du Léman’s RISE values of Respect, Internationalism, Spirit, and Excellence.

Use and develop the existing resources to teach English in the Francophone section.

Work with colleagues to ensure that all lessons are harmonized across the grade level.

Grade students as per the school guidelines and enter grades into the on-line gradebook.

Write school reports as per guidelines and adhere to the timelines for completion.

Supervise exams as required.

Carry out other duties as assigned.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
We are seeking an experienced and engaging English teacher with native-level English proficiency and a strong academic background in literature. The successful candidate will hold a recognised teaching qualification and demonstrate a good command of French.
Experience teaching within the Swiss Maturité and/or French Baccalauréat programmes would be a strong asset.
