German Teacher - After-School Tutoring

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Delivering engaging and high-quality after-school German language tuition to Primary School students aged 7 to 12 years old, supporting their language development in a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment. The classes take place after 3:30 pm and are delivered on an hourly paid basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The German Teacher will:
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging after-school German lessons.
- Develop appropriate teaching resources, lesson plans and learning materials tailored to students' age, ability and language proficiency.
- Differentiate teaching to meet the individual learning needs of students.
- Monitor students' progress and provide constructive feedback to students.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and communicate any concerns to the relevant school staff.
- Work collaboratively with main class teachers to ensure consistency.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Qualification
- University degree in German or a related subject.
- Recognised teaching qualification.
Experience
- Experience teaching German to primary-aged children.
- Previous experience in an international school or multilingual environment would be an advantage.
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent command of German (native or near-native level).
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate language lessons.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with young learners.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- ICT literacy, including the use of educational technologies and standard office software.
- Good working knowledge of English. Knowledge of French would be an asset..
- Enthusiastic, reliable and committed to supporting students' language development.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible and adaptable in response to the needs of the school.
- Ability to work to deadlines and maintain high professional standards.
