MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As a Physical Education / Sports Teacher at Collège du Léman, you are responsible for the management of classes by creating a safe and dynamic learning environment, a positive class approach in which students are encouraged to pursue their interests and to have positive experiences that will lead to healthy and lifelong participation in physical activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide structured lessons by maintaining a stable pace, motivation and stimulation,
- Maintain discipline in accordance with school procedures and encourage good practices in terms of punctuality, behaviour, working standards and duties,
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing Professional Development:
- Evaluate one’s own teaching to improve its effectiveness,
- Stay up to date on the latest teaching methods and skills,
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and deliver coherent units of work,
- Communicate and consult with parents as appropriate,
- Teach/Coach extracurricular activities,
- Organise and participate in special events / competition teams.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in P.E. or related field,
- Relevant teaching experience mainly in primary/elementary, but also in middle and/or high school,
- Advanced coaching experience and skills in football and/or basketball - volleyball is a plus,
- Ability to work collaboratively within the School and Athletics Team,
- International and independent school experience preferred,
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, knowledge of social media, and advanced administrative skills,
- High level of both French and English.
