MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Yoga Teacher to lead engaging, age-appropriate yoga classes for students aged 8 to 18. The ideal candidate will foster a nurturing, inclusive, and structured learning environment where students can explore movement, mindfulness, and self-expression through yoga.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Embody and promote Collège du Léman’s RISE values of Respect, Internationalism, Spirit, and Excellence.
- Design and deliver weekly yoga sessions adapted to the developmental stages of different age groups (8–11, 12–14, and 15–18).
- Promote mindfulness, emotional regulation, and physical awareness through posture, breathwork, and relaxation techniques.
- Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive space that supports student well-being.
- Monitor student participation.
- Collaborate with school staff and the extracurricular team to ensure program quality and alignment with school values.
- Communicate with parents and guardians as needed regarding student progress or concerns.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols during all sessions.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Qualification
- Certification in Yoga Instruction is mandatory (RYT 200 or equivalent).
- Specialisation in children’s or teen yoga is a plus.
- Experience teaching yoga to children and/or adolescents in an educational or recreational setting.
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent development.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching style to different age groups and abilities.
- A warm, patient, and enthusiastic approach, with a genuine interest in the development and well-being of young people.
- Fluent in French and English.
- First aid and CPR certification preferred.
Work schedule
Weekly sessions during after-school hours, approximately 2 hours on Thursdays.
