We’re looking to recruit a Teacher of Computer Science (Maternity Cover October 2025 – March 2026) to join The British School of Guangzhou, a Nord Anglia Education school.

THE ROLE
The Teacher of Computer Science (CS) will be engaged in the delivery of all aspects of KS3-5 CS, as well as support in the communications with our primary digital learning coordinator. We are looking for an individual who can deliver CS to GCSE level and A Level and has a passion for innovative and creative digital solutions to an emerging whole school EdTech curriculum.
We’ll look to you to promote high expectations for our students, designing learning activities that are aligned to our school’s curriculum and creating a learning culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved. You will foster an environment of respect and progress within the classroom, facilitating learning through activities that reflect a growth mindset.
ABOUT YOU
You will be able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international environment, you will possess a university degree, a recognised teaching qualification, and teaching experience. Committed and creative, you will be reflective on your own teaching and student outcomes, seeking out and implementing new ideas and innovative methods to raise the school’s level of achievement.
Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school. You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with parents and students. You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for China, including holding a Bachelor or above degree, at least 2 years of full time teaching experience etc.

OUR GLOBAL ACADEMIC RESULTS
The 2023-2024 academic year was the strongest ever in terms of BSG’s academic results. In A-levels, our students achieved 69% of grades at A*-A, along with 82% at A*-B. In IGCSE, BSG students achieved an outstanding set of results, with 60% of grades at 9 – 7 for the year and 92% at 9 – 4. Computer Science results specifically: A Level 100% A* - A, AS Level: 20% A* - A, 40% A* - B and 80% A* - E. In GCSE, 100% - A* - A.
