The Role


The Computer Science Department at BIS Hanoi is a forward-looking, collaborative, and innovative team dedicated to delivering cutting-edge education that responds to emerging trends in technology. We pride ourselves on fostering creativity, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving skills in our students.

Our curriculum, inspired by the English National Curriculum, equips students in Years 7-9 with a strong foundation in both theoretical, practical computing concepts and digital citizenship. Our KS3 curriculum builds on a strong foundation in computing in Years 1-6, with one member of the department teaching across Key Stages, 1, 2 and 3. In Years 10-11, we offer Cambridge IGCSE Computer Science, progressing to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Years 12-13, where students are challenged to apply their knowledge in increasingly sophisticated ways.

We are seeking a visionary leader who can inspire and motivate both students and colleagues. The ideal candidate will be an innovative educator with a proven ability to deliver engaging lessons that challenge and excite learners of all abilities. Strong collaboration skills are essential, and experience with Java and Python programming is a distinct advantage.

Purpose of the role

  • To lead and provide day-to-day management and organisation of the Computer Science Department.
  • As a key middle leader, assist in developing long-term strategies to raise standards in the subject and the school generally.
  • Foster a culture of high performance within the team, with learning and student well-being as central foci.
  • Encourage a culture of collaboration, risk-taking, and support, and promote a shared vision.
  • Lead the ongoing development of the curriculum, teaching and learning standards, and departmental resources.
