Social Emotional Counsellor (Whole-school)

British International School Hanoi is looking to appoint a Social-Emotional Counsellor, to join our talented and dedicated team of educators from August 2025.
The Social-Emotional Counsellor at BIS Hanoi plays an essential role in promoting student well-being and mental health across the school community. Working with students, staff, and parents, the Counsellor creates a safe, inclusive environment where students can develop emotional resilience, understand themselves better, and thrive academically and personally. Through individual support, collaboration, and community-wide initiatives, the Counsellor fosters a proactive approach to mental health, helping ensure that all students feel supported.
Purpose of Role:

Provide confidential counselling to support students' emotional needs and personal growth.

Accept and manage referrals from students, staff, and parents, assessing and coordinating appropriate interventions.

Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and liaise with external professionals to support student well-being.

Guide and support the work of any counselling interns, fostering their professional growth.

Consult with staff and parents, contributing to a unified support network around each student.

Design and deliver workshops for staff, students, and parents to promote mental health awareness.

Oversee the Safe Space, ensuring it remains a secure environment for students, with accurate record-keeping.

Maintain detailed records, track counselling data, and analyze trends to enhance school programming.

Actively engage in safeguarding practices, contributing to the Child Protection team and attending relevant training.

Facilitate mental health initiatives with student leaders and promote resources across the school community.
