This role will be based in Europe, at one of our Eastern EU schools.

Job Purpose

 

The role of Head of IT (Eastern Europe), is to function as a strategic liaison between the Regional IT and the School IT leads in Eastern Europe.

He/She will be responsible for overseeing, leading, and managing the IT operations, applications, and infrastructure of all Nord Anglia schools located in Eastern Europe.

He/She will ensure the smooth functioning of all IT systems, networks, and applications, and lead a team of IT professionals to deliver and support high-quality technical solutions; reporting to the Regional Head of IT (Europe).

 

 

Main Functions

 

  • Play an active leadership role in guiding the school towards becoming a world-class, fully integrated, and collaborative institution, fostering continuous improvement and overseeing necessary changes.
  • Lead the School "IT Leads community" in the Eastern region, currently including Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, and Russia.
  • Manage current and future IT/technical projects within the schools, ensuring alignment with Nord Anglia Education's overall IT strategy and vision.
  • Exercise oversight of the school's IT budget, making sure that resources are allocated efficiently according to strategic priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards and reinforce IT security measures to protect sensitive data and reduce risks.
  • Oversee the operation and service management activities to ensure IT services function optimally and meet user needs.

 

Other Responsibilities

 

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of IT professionals, including all School IT leaders and managers across Eastern Europe.
  • Offer guidance and support to help IT leaders and managers effectively oversee their respective teams and resources.
  • Provide strategic leadership for the IT departments, ensuring their goals and initiatives align with Nord Anglia Education's broader IT strategy in both the EU region and the group.
  • Forecast, manage, and evaluate the school's IT budgets, ensuring proper allocation of resources and identifying areas for cost-saving.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to oversee the IT budget for Eastern Europe, recommending technology investments and efficiency measures.
  • Manage and coordinate IT projects, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and vendor management, to ensure successful project outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with school leadership teams, other departments, and stakeholders to understand their IT needs and build strong relationships.
  • Support the school's IT team in resolving technical issues and incidents promptly to minimize downtime. Coordinate with internal and external teams, ensuring effective communication during escalation and resolution processes.
  • Continuously monitor, assess, and improve customer satisfaction with IT services across Eastern European schools.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and policies related to data privacy, security, and IT governance.
  • Represent the IT department, advocating for the technological needs of Eastern European schools.
  • Perform and advise on IT systems and network administration.
  • Manage relationships with internal/external customers and suppliers, overseeing RFP processes to ensure compliance with NAE standards.
  • Ensure relevant KPI reports are consistently updated and improved.
