Assistant Librarian
Our vision for the library, is to create a warm, inviting, welcoming, supportive, and vibrant space, which invites students, teaching staff and parents, to engage in a rich learning experience, which invokes in all its users a sense of belonging, ownership and excitement for the ideas and skills it gives exposure to. All aspects of school life, academic and pleasure, should have the library at its centre. The Assistant Librarian’s role is to support this vision of interconnectedness, and to work collaboratively with all members of our school community in order to help shape a library which meets the needs of the whole community. In addition, the Assistant Librarian’s role is to help the Teacher Librarian to create this warm, inviting, vibrant atmosphere in the library to make it a place where students love to visit, read and borrow books and to work with students, teachers and parents, helping them to find the books they require from the library.
General responsibilities:
- Assisting and supporting the Teacher Librarian in their aim to create a community of readers and empower individuals with free and easy access to information and ideas.
- Maintain a welcoming and well organised library space for all students and staff
- Cataloguing and processing of library materials
- Managing Follett Destiny library systems: check in and out, renew, overdue books, holds, etc.
- Managing library use / book shelving
- Managing queries and fulfilling requests of students, and teaching staff
- Assisting and supporting all library patrons in location of materials and use of online catalogue
- Recommending books to students, teachers and parents

Our 2024 cohort of 102 IBDP graduates achieved an average score of 36.1 points, significantly higher than the global average of 30.3 points, with 28% of our students achieving 40 points or more and 1 student achieving a perfect score of 45.
Beyond academics, we have an exceptional enrichment programme with over 100 Co-Curricular activities and expeditions both in Vietnam and globally that help our students overcome challenges, build confidence, create lifelong memories and change to the communities around them.
