SECONDARY TEACHER LIBRARIAN
Applications are invited from enthusiastic, qualified and experienced teachers, with a minimum of three years’ recent and relevant experience working in school libraries. Please note that, as this is a teaching position, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is a requirement.
The mission of the BIS HCMC Secondary Library is to foster a lifelong love of reading and learning, and to empower students to be critical thinkers, effective and ethical users of information, and creative with both ideas and imagination. The Secondary Library, completely redesigned and renovated for the 2026-27 academic year, is a central hub for all members of the BIS HCMC Secondary community. Our extensive collection is carefully curated to reflect our students’ lives, needs and interests, as well as offering a window to new perspectives, worlds and ideas.
As an IBO world school the teacher librarian forms a key part of the support we offer to our students - supporting academic research, writing and referencing skills and helping students to navigate both physical and digital resources. We are committed to making the library the centre of our school and are searching for an outstanding teacher librarian who will continue our journey of excellence.
The teacher librarian will have a minimal teaching load. Please specify your main teaching subject in your letter of application.

Our primary students follow the English National Curriculum blended with the thematic and interactive International Primary Curriculum and achieve outstanding outcomes. In Secondary, our students continue with the English National Curriculum at Key Stage 3 in preparation for their IGCSEs and later, the rigorous IB Diploma Programme. Our 2026 cohort of 130 IBDP graduates achieved an average score of 36.7 points, significantly higher than the global average of 30.9 points, with 28% of our students achieving 40 points or more and 2 students achieving a perfect score of 45. Our students are equally successful at IGCSE. Our 2025 cohort of 128 students achieved 69% of grades at A*/A with 97% of our students achieving A* - C in 5 or more subjects and 39 students achieving A*/A grades across all their subjects.
Beyond academics, we have an exceptional enrichment programme with over 100 Co-Curricular activities and expeditions both in Vietnam and globally that help our students overcome challenges, build confidence, create lifelong memories and change to the communities around them.
