Sr. Secondary Chemistry Teacher (IGCSE)

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced, passionate Chemistry Teacher for Senior Secondary students who can deliver the IGCSE curriculum with clarity and enthusiasm. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) syllabus, the ability to engage students, and foster a dynamic learning environment. This role includes creating lesson plans, delivering engaging lectures, and preparing students for IGCSE assessments, ensuring high academic achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver effective Chemistry lessons that align with the IGCSE curriculum standards for senior secondary students.
  • Student Engagement: Foster an interactive and supportive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and a passion for Chemistry.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Design and administer regular assessments, assignments, and practical experiments to track and support student progress.
  • Resource Management: Utilize and develop resources, including labs and equipment, to enhance student understanding of complex Chemistry concepts.
  • Student Support: Provide individualized support, including extra tutoring and mentoring, to help students achieve academic success in Chemistry.
  • Professional Development: Participate in continuous professional development programs to stay current with IGCSE curriculum updates and teaching strategies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Certification: Teaching qualification recognized for IGCSE, such as PGCE or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years teaching Chemistry at the senior secondary level, preferably with IGCSE curriculum experience.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with online teaching platforms and digital resources for enhanced learning.
