Whole School Counsellor

As the Whole School Counsellor, you will work closely with students, parents, and staff to promote positive mental health, resilience, and coping strategies. You will provide individual and group counselling, lead well-being initiatives, and contribute to a school culture where every student feels valued and empowered to thrive. Collaboration with teachers, leadership, and parents will be essential as you help shape a proactive approach to mental health and well-being across the school.

About The Role 

The Whole School Counsellor will provide professional and comprehensive counselling services to students, staff and families, promoting holistic well-being and academic success within the school community. This role requires a deep understanding of socio-emotional development, crisis intervention and collaborative problem solving. The WSC will also collaborate with teachers, staff and parents to create a supportive and inclusive environment conductive to learning and personal growth. The WSC is an active member of the Pastoral Team involving Safeguarding, Child Protection and Case Management.  

Qualifications: Post-graduate/master’s degree in School Counselling or related field (Clinical/Educational/Child Psychology, Psychotherapy)  

About You 

With the ability to create a classroom culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved, you will have a university degree in your specialist subject, a teaching qualification plus considerable teaching experience and knowledge of the curriculum. Receptive to feedback and ready to embrace change, you will be keen to share best practice with colleagues and peers. 

A strong ambassador for the school, you will be able to develop new ways to engage students and parents with the wider school and Nord Anglia Education community. Your strong motivation and communication skills will also enable you to create a feeling of energy, excitement, and personal investment within the classroom. You will also be able to meet visa-related requirements for Malaysia.
