Location: London Victoria (hybrid model, minimum 3 days in office).

In the role of Data Scientist, you will be responsible for leading the application of advanced analytics, machine learning, and statistical modelling. Using data to solve our most complex business problems and uncover actionable insights to helping our Schools to succeed
The role:
As Data Scientist your focus will be:
- Design and deliver predictive and advanced AI/ML models to forecast school trends (e.g., enrolments, churn, retention, staff satisfaction).
- Execute high-value data science use cases.
- Execute high-impact data science use cases aligned to our goals.
- Perform root-cause and correlation analysis to uncover hidden drivers of performance.
- Implement time-series and trend-based forecasting models.
- Engineer high-quality features and datasets, delivering outputs in accessible format.
- Deliver clear and accessible outputs using tools such as dashboards, reports, or data notebooks.
- Support data science best practices through mentoring, peer review, and reproducible code.
The Successful Candidate will possess:
- Experience in a senior or lead data science role
- Strong applied knowledge of:
- Supervised learning models (regression, classification, tree-based models)
- Clustering and segmentation methods (e.g. K-Means, DBSCAN, hierarchical)
- Time-series forecasting (ARIMA, Prophet, LSTM)
- Causal inference frameworks (e.g. DiD, propensity scores, Granger causality)
- SHAP / feature importance tools for explainability
- Advanced Python or R for data science
- Experience with visualisation platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Dash)
- Proficiency in SQL and handling relational data
- Strong understanding of model validation, data quality, and analytical hygiene
