Finance and IT Controls Manager

 

Location: London Victoria (hybrid model, minimum 3 days in office).

 

Nord Anglia Education is looking to recruit a Finance and IT Controls Manager to join our London Victoria HQ in the Finance team, offering a 6 month fixed-term contract.

 

We are looking for someone to help us implement and maintain a consistent and robust IT Control Framework including executing the controls assurance and transformation activities within the schools, regions and central teams, including planning, scoping and designing controls and processes, testing operating effectiveness and planning remediations.

 

You will promote, support and ensure IT Management owns its risk and controls as the first line of defence, ensuring that all key risks within IT activities and operations are identified, mitigated and monitored by an appropriate control environment that is aligned with the Group’s risk appetite.

 

You will be able to assist with the implementation of best practice utilising system-based controls enabling the Group audit to move away from substantive testing to control-based audits. This will include active participation in the IT Process Walkthroughs & Documentation, Controls Design/Documentation & rollout and thereon Control Monitoring to assess SOX readiness.

 

The role:

We seek an individual to join as a Finance and IT Controls Manager where your focus will be:

  • Create the scoping and risk assessment.
  • Create IT SOX documentation, including risk and controls matrices and process flowcharts, and evaluate controls as new systems are developed or processes change.
  • Ensure that controls are properly designed for all in scope processes and global entities.
  • Perform IT SOX testing including design & operating effectiveness testing over ITAC & ITGC, remediation test work to assess UK SOX readiness.
  • Advise on best practice automation of business controls.
  • Provide technical guidance and advice to control owners for remediation of internal control gaps.
  • Ensure any control gaps are remediated and re-assessed by end of UK SOX project.
  • Assist with the execution of the IT controls assurance and transformation activities.
  • Assist with the roll-out and implementation of standardised controls across the group, with focus on ITGCs and ITACs.
  • Create control design assessments. Work alongside Internal Audit to develop a testing plan with each of the regions for operational effectiveness.
  • To develop a key performance indicators overview of our IT controls status and to share it with the leadership team on a regular basis.

 

The Successful Candidate will possess:

  • Internal audit background with a strong focus on SOX and IT-related internal controls,
  • CISA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent certification.
  • Solid understanding of SOX and internal control concepts (e.g., COSO, COBIT)
  • Strong written and inter-personal skills.
  • Strong communication skills presenting internal control and risk matters in an understandable way across various forums and levels of the organization with the right level of detail.
  • Multi-client, commerce experience
  • Proven ability to lead audits and manage audit teams
  • Excel and Visio proficiency
