GROUP FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT
Location: London Victoria (hybrid model, minimum 3 days in office).
Nord Anglia Education is looking to recruit a Group Financial Accountant to join our Finance team, sat within the Group Central Support.
We are looking for someone to take an active role in the Group Finance team in supporting the consolidated monthly financial close process and delivering high quality monthly, quarterly and year end consolidated financial results, detailed financial analysis and reconciliation in conjunction with Group Accounting Policy and IFRS. You will support in reviewing subsidiary accounts and reporting packs under IFRS and other applicable GAAPs, and the co-ordination of year end and ad-hoc audits.
The role:
We seek an individual to join as Group Financial Accountant where your focus will be to:
- Support the business with the acquisition and integration of new schools.
- Work with the Group Finance team to refine the consolidation process, reduce reliance on manual and inefficient processes and comply with the agreed internal key controls necessary to move to a controls-based audit.
- Work cross-functionally with other teams to provide clear and concise accounting advice on significant and unusual transactions.
- Assist in documenting the formal accounting treatment of significant contracts or transactions and obtain a timely sign-off from the auditors.
- Performance of, and compliance with internal controls with respect to the Group’s external reporting and continuous improvement of controls.
- Provide key inputs in the preparation and presentation of the consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS and the Group’s accounting policies
- Provide key inputs in the preparation and presentation of monthly and quarterly consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet reporting for internal management reporting purposes, including undertaking consolidated balance sheet and P&L analytical reviews.
- Support with the administration of the financial consolidation system (OneStream) and monthly close activities
The Successful Candidate will possess:
- Degree in finance/accounting or related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution
- Professional accounting qualifications (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) – newly qualified or nearly qualified
- Strong academic performance at tertiary level in the relevant discipline
- Accounting under IFRS
