In the role of Insurance and Risk Manager, you will be responsible for managing NAE’s commercial insurance programme and provide support on our risk management framework.
The role:
As Insurance and Risk Manager your focus will be:
- Working with brokers and the wider business to gather and review renewal information.
- Handling insurance queries from the business as required.
- Work with the business to develop practises to ensure risks are managed effectively from an insurance perspective.
- Lead the commercial insurance renewal process to ensure it is cost effective and NAE has appropriate policy cover in place.
- Oversee the issuance of documentation / certificates following renewal to ensure these are received in good time by schools / corporate offices.
- Manage the claims process (through brokers) so insurers have sufficient information to investigate and claims are progressed in a timely manner.
- Assist the Group Risk Officer to develop a strategic service plan to ensure that NAE’s insurance programme is run as efficiently as possible
- Assist the Group Risk Officer with the design, implementation and maintenance of NAE’s risk management framework.
- Maintaining risk registers, principally by ensuring they are updated by risk owners and by critically evaluating assessments made by them.
- Facilitating workshops with risk owners and business units as necessary to ensure that key areas of risk exposure across NAE have been identified.
- Assisting business units to respond effectively to new areas of risk, such as identifying potential controls and mitigations.
- Assisting in the production of reports to the Board, Audit and Risk Committee and Sub-Committee on Risk.
The Successful Candidate will possess:
- Demonstrable experience of managing commercial insurance programmes in global organisations, including a successful track record of handling negotiations with internal clients, brokers and insurers.
- Knowledge of policy wordings and an understanding of contract law.
- Strong focus on results / outcomes.
- Good project management skills.
- Understanding of risk management and ability to persuade others to follow best practice.
- Excellent communication skills and good team player.
- Numerate and articulate.
- Ability to introduce and manage change in corporate practices.
- ACII professional qualification (Desirable).
- Strong claims handling experience (Desirable).
- Excellent software skills, particularly Microsoft Excel (Desirable).
