Treasury Accountant

 

Location: London Victoria (hybrid model, minimum 3 days in office).

 

Offering a 6-month fixed-term contract.

 

Nord Anglia Education is looking to recruit a Treasury Accountant to join Nord Anglia Education, in the Finance team.

 

We are looking for someone to support and to address current and future treasury accounting matters as they relate to external and internal liquidity management, financial risk management (interest and FX volatility) and subsidiary ownership structures.

 

Work closely with the TMS Implementation Manager and Group Head of Corporate Finance and Treasury in delivering accounting set-up and solution in the TMS.

 

Build key cross functional relationships between Financial Control, Treasury and Tax to drive the right outcomes for current and future accounting requirements.

 

The role:

We seek an individual to join as a Treasury Accountant where your focus will be to:

  • Ensure all treasury transactions including payments, receipts, inter-company loans, derivatives and interest and FX transaction entries are recorded / posted in the TMS and ERP in line with supporting agreements and trading documentation.
  • Monitor treasury activity through the ERP and TMS and investigating differences to expectations.
  • Maintain all treasury-related documentation, including external loan, intercompany loan, and interest rate and FX trading documentation.
  • Ensure appropriate accounting treatment is applied, and the production of treasury accounting journals, treasury reports and month end reconciliations.
  • Prepare disclosures for quarterly and annual financial statements, such as debt disclosure, debt cash flows schedule, fair value disclosure for investments etc.
  • Prepare detailed FX and interest rates analyses to manage market exposures across the group.
  • Develop long-term financial policies for the business applying advanced skills and procedures appropriate for the business.
  • Monitor, maintain and improve controls over the above processes inside and outside of the TMS.
  • Manage the accounting requirements of IFRS and Nord Anglia standard reporting via the TMS (including external and internal loans, FX and interest rate transactions).

 

The Successful Candidate will possess:

  • Understanding and experience of treasury accounting including liquidity, cashflow, interest rates, FX and various financial instruments.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and analyse financial data and be able to identify trends, evaluate financial risks, and provide insights into financial performance
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of the broader team, with the ability to communicate and collaborate with stakeholders including Finance Control, FP&A and Tax
  • Good understanding of financial markets, financial instruments and debt
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize and meet deadlines without compromising the quality of work.
  • Experienced Treasury Finance professional, with ideally more than 5-7 years PQE experience and a solid track record, underpinned by relevant Treasury and/or Accounting qualifications (ACT/AMCT and/or CIMA/ACCA/ACA or similar).
  • Proven treasury management experience in a geographically diverse multinational group, operating at a group level, with in depth knowledge of global banking and payment networks.
  • Knowledgeable and literate with of ERP (NAV BC), EPM (OneStream) and TMS (FIS Integrity).
  • Track record of operating in a treasury transformation environment and developing and implementing new SOPs.
