We are currently seeking an exceptional Jefé de Lengua Castellana y Literatura PAI y PD to join our successful team at International College Spain. This is a rare opportunity for a passionate and skilled educator to lead both programmes within a dynamic and supportive international school environment.
The Head of Spanish will lead high-quality teaching, learning, and student outcomes within the department. The role involves driving curriculum development, coaching and supporting teachers, using data to improve student achievement, and fostering an inclusive and engaging learning culture aligned with IB best practice. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced educator who is passionate about academic excellence, innovation, and building strong relationships across the school community.
Candidates need to have

A Degree in Hispanic Philology / Spanish Studies, Linguistics or Literary Theory (Licenciado en Filología Hispánica / Grado en Español, Lingüística, Teoría de la Literatura) plus a Master's in Teacher Training (with specialisation in Spanish Language and Literature) plus Teaching experience (at least 12 months teaching Spanish Language and Literature in Secondary Education and/or Baccalaureate) or Completion of 24 ECTS credits related to the area of Spanish Language and Literature.
A Diploma/Degree in Primary Education Teaching (Magisterio) to teach Spanish Language and Literature in Primary would be advantageous but is not essential.
At least three years of teaching experience is essential, and experience of department leadership is desirable, preferably within an International Baccalaureate context. We are looking for a leader who is passionate about international education, creative in their thinking and a student of learning.
