Job Description

Oxford Sixth Form College are looking to recruit a full time, permanent, Head of House to work closely with and support the Director of Boarding in the delivery and development of the College’s boarding provision.

 

The successful candidate will have a very strong pastoral ethos and commitment to the care and welfare of young people.

 

Excellent ICT, organisational, administrative, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, are also essential.

 

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a boarding role is essential, as is an understanding of National Boarding Minimum Standards (NMBS) and experience of organising and managing student activities, trips and events.

 

Our focus is upon finding someone who shares our sixth form college values and can successfully fulfil the requirements of the job description below.

 

Please note that this post does not include the provision of accommodation within a boarding house; it is a ‘live-out’ position.

 

The post holder will usually work 3 days on and 2 days off, 8:00am to 8:00pm with lunch break, with alternate weekends off, although precise working hours are flexible depending on the job requirement and workload. The breaks are at Christmas, Easter and during the summer when the boarding houses are closed.
