ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Report to: Head of Primary
  • Location: Phnom Penh

Responsibility

  • Support the inclusion and learning of assigned students with special educational needs (SEN) across all areas of school life.

  • Provide targeted English language support (e.g., Accelerated Language Support – ALS) for students who require additional assistance.

  • Develop a working knowledge of a range of learning needs relevant to the school context.

  • Gain a deep understanding of the individual needs, strengths, and challenges of assigned students.

  • Support students both in group settings and individually, inside and outside the classroom, to maximize their learning.

  • Clarify and explain lesson instructions to ensure student understanding and engagement.

  • Ensure students can access and effectively use necessary learning tools and equipment.

  • Motivate and encourage students to participate actively in their learning.

  • Provide support in areas of specific difficulty, such as speech, language, writing, and numeracy.

  • Help students maintain focus and complete tasks, offering guidance and redirection when necessary.

  • Adapt or create learning materials to ensure accessibility and differentiation.

  • Assist in managing students’ social interactions and behavior in a positive, constructive manner.

  • Build and maintain supportive, respectful relationships with students to enhance self-esteem and confidence.

  • Advocate for the inclusion and participation of all students within the classroom and broader school community.

  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the student at all times.

  • Provide clear, regular feedback to teachers, learning support leaders, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and challenges.

  • Contribute to meetings, including IEP reviews and annual reviews, as appropriate.

  • Participate in ongoing professional learning and development relevant to the role.

  • Attend staff meetings and school events when required.

  • Follow all school policies, procedures, and safeguarding protocols.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters.

  • Carry out any other duties reasonably requested by the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

ABOUT YOU

  • Good English
  • Computer literacy in Windows, MS Office
  • At least 1 year Accelerated Language Support experience.
  • Used to work in an international school environment
  • Possess good communication skills, be friendly and love the students.
  • Demonstrate evident of innovating and adapting curricular to engage children and enable them to perform highly
  • Enjoy working in an intercultural context
