ABOUT THE ROLE
The Inclusion Teaching Assistant (ITA) is dedicated to ensuring all students can engage with the curriculum and participate fully in classroom activities. They provide support to students with additional learning needs in a middle or high school setting. The role involves assisting the subject teachers with classroom activities, modifying materials to suit individual learning styles, and working one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce concepts and skills. As an ITA, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the educational and emotional development of our incredible students. You will work closely with the Inclusion teachers, classroom teacher, parents, and other professionals to ensure that the student receives personalized attention and achieves their maximum potential.

Responsibility
✅ Student Support
-
Provide one-on-one or small group support for students with additional learning needs.

Assist students with daily classroom tasks and staying organized.

Help develop students’ social skills, self-regulation, time management, and study habits.
✅ Classroom Assistance
-
Modify/adapt instructional materials for students’ needs.

Assist teachers in lesson preparation and support students during class activities.
✅ Monitoring & Reporting
-
Track and document students’ progress toward learning goals.

Communicate progress and challenges to teachers and the inclusion team.

Maintain student records, including behavior reports and IEP goals.
✅ Collaboration

Work closely with teachers, counselors, and inclusion staff for effective support.

Participate in IEP meetings and parent-teacher conferences.

Support implementation of behavior management plans.
✅ General Support

Help manage classroom behavior and promote inclusion.

Supervise students during non-classroom activities (e.g., lunch, recess, trips).

Maintain a positive, supportive environment for all students.

Liaise with families as a point of contact if required.
ABOUT YOU
✅ Preferred Qualifications & Skills
-
Background in Education, Psychology, Special Education, or related fields.
- Familiarity with special education practices, IEPs (Individualized Education Programs), and inclusive strategies.

Subject knowledge in Math, English, or Science is a plus.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English.

Patience, flexibility, empathy, and a positive attitude when working with students.

Proficiency with educational technology and assistive tools.

Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
