Job Description

 

 

We are looking for a suitable teacher to work within our Language Acquisition Faculty team to create authentic and inspiring learning experiences that engage students to be passionate and curious learners. You will set high standards in your interactions with students with the aim of achieving quality outcomes for all learners.

 

The position will aim to deliver language learning to students across secondary school with a focus primarily on teaching language acquisition to 14-18 yr olds through CIE IGCSE syllabi and IB Diploma Language B/Ab Initio syllabi.

 

Your lessons will successfully encourage exploration, innovation, and creativity in dealing with content and skill development. Learning experiences are sequenced to build on prior learning and explore personal exploration beyond the confines of curriculum coverage and motivate students to explore your subject through enrichment opportunities.

Required Skills/Abilities

 

 

  • Teaching Experience: Must hold Qualified Teacher Status with at least five years of teaching experience, including a minimum of three years teaching IB Diploma Programme (DP) Spanish.
  • Educational Background: A university degree or higher in language learning, with experience teaching students aged 11-16 in a secondary school setting.
  • Additional Language Skills (Preferred): Ability to teach French as a second language at Key Stage 4 (ages 14-16).
  • IB Training (Preferred but Not Essential): Completion of IB Category 2 training in Language B/Ab Initio.
  • Professional Development: A strong commitment to lifelong learning, with a proven record of continued professional growth.
  • Student Enrichment: Experience in delivering extracurricular activities and participating in external events that support student learning beyond the classroom.
  • Pastoral Care: Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality pastoral care, supporting the personal and academic development of students.
  • Collaboration: A team-oriented approach, working across subject boundaries to develop interdisciplinary learning and transferable skills in students.
  • Curriculum Innovation: Proven ability to design, adapt, and innovate curricula to engage students effectively.
  • Technology Integration: Strong proficiency in utilizing technology to enhance teaching, learning, and student engagement.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to interact with a diverse community, including students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Analytical and Results-Driven: A data-informed approach with the ability to track progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and demonstrate success.
  • Time Management and Flexibility: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and adapt to changing priorities.
