We are looking for a suitable teacher to work within our First Language & Literature Faculty team to create authentic and inspiring learning experiences that engage students to be passionate and curious learners. You will set high standards in your interactions with students with the aim of achieving quality outcomes for all learners.

This role involves teaching English Language and Literature to students in our middle school, as well as delivering the Individuals & Societies curriculum. Your teaching will lay the foundation for students’ progression to the CIE IGCSE First Language & Literature (English) in Key Stage 4, and ultimately support their readiness for the appropriate level of English courses within the IB Diploma Programme in Key Stage 5.

Your lessons should foster exploration, innovation, and creativity, while supporting the development of essential skills. Job Responsibilities

Required Skills/Abilities

 

 

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status with at least five years of teaching experience, including a minimum of two years teaching IB MYP (Years 1–3) preferred.

  • Holds a university degree or higher in English First Language & Literature.

  • Has proven experience teaching the full age range of 11 to 16-year-olds in a secondary school setting.

  • Ideally has completed an IB Category 2 training in MYP First Language & Literature (preferred but not essential).

  • Experience teaching Individuals and Societies at Key Stage 3 is desirable but not required.

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to professional growth, with a solid track record of ongoing professional development.

  • Experience organizing and delivering extracurricular activities and participating in external events to enrich student learning.

  • Can demonstrate high-quality pastoral care that supports the personal and academic development of young people.

  • Actively collaborates with colleagues, particularly across subject areas, to help students develop transferable skills.

  • Shows a proven ability to innovate and adapt the curriculum to engage students effectively.

  • Has strong skills in using educational technology to enhance learning and create engaging experiences.

  • Possesses excellent interpersonal, cross-cultural, and communication skills for working with a diverse school community and stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical abilities, with a passion for tracking and demonstrating student and teaching success.

  • Results-oriented, with a consistent focus on aligning teaching impact to key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Excellent time management and the flexibility to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
