We are seeking a passionate and dedicated teacher to join our Performing Arts Faculty, creating authentic and inspiring learning experiences that foster a love for music and curiosity in students. You will set high expectations in your interactions with students, ensuring quality learning outcomes for all.

This role involves delivering a well-rounded music education for primary and middle school students, incorporating practical and real-life connections. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with students across different age groups in a through-school setting. Your work will support student progression towards CIE IGCSE Music at Key Stage 4, with a clear pathway to IB Diploma Programme Music in Key Stage 5.

This position also provides the opportunity to engage with Nord Anglia Education’s collaboration with Juilliard, enriching students’ learning experiences through world-class performing arts education.

Your teaching will encourage exploration, innovation, and creativity, helping students develop both skills and confidence. Learning experiences will be carefully sequenced to build on prior knowledge and promote personal exploration beyond the standard curriculum. You will also motivate students to engage with music beyond the classroom through various enrichment opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

Required Skills/Abilities

 

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a minimum of three years of teaching experience
  • Preferable: Experience teaching IB MYP Performance
  • University Degree or higher in a relevant subject
  • Essential: Experience teaching across Primary and Middle school levels
  • Preferable but not essential: Completion of IB Cat 2 in MYP Performance
  • Desirable but not essential: Pianist experience
  • Proven track record of continued professional development, demonstrating a commitment to lifelong learning
  • Experience in delivering extracurricular activities and participating in externally run events to support student enrichment
  • Ability to provide high-quality pastoral care, supporting students' personal and academic development
  • Evidence of collaborative work across subject areas to develop transferable skills in students
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and adapt curricula to engage learners effectively
  • Strong proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning
  • Exceptional cross-cultural, interpersonal, and communication skills to interact with a diverse community and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills, with a passion for demonstrating and quantifying success
  • A results-oriented mindset, with the ability to track progress against identified KPIs
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills, ensuring flexibility in handling multiple responsibilities
