IB Mathematics/Physics Secondary Professor

We are seeking a qualified and passionate IB Mathematics Professor to join our academic team in International College in Punta del Este. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, internationally minded school community.

About the Role

The successful candidate will teach Mathematics within the International Baccalaureate framework (MYP and/or DP), fostering critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, and strong conceptual understanding. The teacher will contribute to a collaborative teaching environment and uphold the values of international education.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons aligned with IB (MYP/DP) curricula
• Design assessments and provide timely, constructive feedback to students
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and interdisciplinary units
• Participate in school meetings, professional development, and IB training
• Support students’ academic and personal development as a homeroom/advisory teacher (if applicable)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, Physics or a related field (Master’s degree preferred) 
• Recognized teaching qualification
• Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level
• IB experience (MYP and/or DP) strongly preferred
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills in English (Spanish is an asset)
• Commitment to international-mindedness and student-centered learning
• Requirement for a strong understanding of both inquiry-based science teaching and mathematics instruction
